Emily M. Craiger

For nearly 20 years, Emily has represented and counseled private and public sector clients in Phoenix, Arizona. Emily started her career focused on defending employers, ranging from small businesses to Fortune 500 companies, in all aspects of Human Resources law. Her expertise includes:

In 2013, Emily left her Of Counsel position with the Phoenix office of Littler Mendelson, P.C., to join the Civil Division of the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office.  While there, Emily continued to advise Maricopa County on all aspect of employment law. She further expanded her practice to include general government advice to the County.  She managed the Land Use & Transactional and Government Advice Practice Groups before moving into the Assistant Division Chief position overseeing the entire Civil Division. Among other things, Emily worked closely with the Board of Supervisors and other County elected officials.  She advised County Public Health throughout the COVID-19 pandemic and she led the election law team during the 2020 election.  

Emily regularly appears in state and federal courts, including arguing before the Arizona and 9th Circuit Courts of Appeal, as well as representing clients in mediations, arbitrations and administrative proceedings. Emily presents legal seminars on employment law and ethics and frequently conducts workplace investigations and in-house trainings on harassment and discrimination avoidance in the workplace.

Emily is National Institute for Trial Advocacy (NITA) deposition and trial certified.  She is a proud graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison and the University of Iowa-College of Law.  In law school, Emily externed for 8th Circuit District Court Judge, the Honorable Michael J. Melloy, and was recognized as the 2002 Outstanding Woman Law Graduate.  Emily is active in the Phoenix community and has served on several non-profit and school boards of directors.
